
Jeremy Nixon
Director
Jeremy Nixon is a Partner at Signal Hill Canada and a former Member of the Legislative Assembly and Cabinet Minister for the Province of Alberta. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for bringing together government, community organizations, and stakeholders to address complex public policy challenges.
Prior to public office, Jeremy spent more than 15 years in Alberta’s non-profit sector, holding leadership roles with organizations including The Mustard Seed, Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary, and the Canadian Mental Health Association. His work focused on supporting vulnerable Albertans through homelessness prevention, mental health, addiction recovery, youth development, and community-based social services.
As Alberta’s Minister of Seniors, Community and Social Services, Jeremy oversaw one of the province’s largest ministries, responsible for affordable housing, homelessness initiatives, seniors’ programs, disability supports, family and community services, and partnerships with Alberta’s non-profit sector. He also chaired the Alberta Housing Corporation and worked closely with municipalities and community organizations to strengthen Alberta’s social safety net.
Jeremy brings extensive experience in governance, public policy, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement to the Calgary Drop-In Centre Board of Directors. His lifelong commitment to serving vulnerable individuals and strengthening communities continues through his board service and community leadership.
