A Day for Philanthropy, and a Moment to Celebrate One of Our Own

Today, we celebrate the incredible impact that generosity, compassion, and community spirit can have on people’s lives.

National Philanthropy Day is a beautiful reminder that when philanthropists, fundraisers, and community leaders come together with a shared purpose, real change happens.

And today, we also get to celebrate one of our own.

Congratulations to Cindy Ngo, our Manager of Fund Development and Community Engagement, and the recipient of the 2025 Outstanding New Fundraising Professional Award.

Cindy’s drive is clear from the moment you meet her. “I want to do something that makes our community and city better,” she says, and she lives that every day.

As Cindy puts it best, “Community is all about these little acts of kindness that cause ripples in the community, and make it better.”

This recognition honours not only Cindy’s dedication, but also the heart she pours into connecting donors with the ever-changing needs of the DI. Some highlights of her impact include:

• Building deeper, heartfelt relationships with donors and inspiring them to dream even bigger in their generosity.
• Helping donors understand the critical needs of the DI and the life-changing impact their support makes every day.
• Serving as a bridge between those eager to give and those who need support, an honour she cherishes deeply.
• Finding joy in witnessing the impact we create together through Fund Development at the DI.

Cindy, we are so proud of you. Thank you for the kindness, passion, and vision you bring to our community.
